Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Architect II to join a collaborative architectural
production team supporting healthcare, institutional, and commercial projects. This role is
ideal for an experienced architectural professional who is capable of contributing
independently across multiple phases of project delivery while continuing to grow technically
and professionally within a supportive team environment.
The Architect II will work closely with senior architects, project managers, consultants, and
multidisciplinary teams to support design development, technical documentation, code
research, consultant coordination, and construction administration activities. This role
involves meaningful technical responsibility and active participation in project execution
from early design through construction completion.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical production skills, working knowledge of
building systems and codes, and the ability to coordinate effectively within fast-paced project
environments. Candidates should demonstrate increasing independence in handling project
responsibilities while maintaining strong collaboration and communication across project
teams.
Use of the title “Architect” in this context reflects the organization’s internal career
development structure and does not independently confer the authority to practice as a
licensed architect or sign and seal construction documents unless separately licensed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
▪ Develop architectural drawings, construction documents, and technical details across
multiple project phases with growing independence under periodic guidance from senior
architectural staff.
▪ Participate in schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and
construction administration activities for healthcare, commercial, and institutional projects.
▪ Perform code and zoning research including:
- IBC (International Building Code)
- ADA/ABA accessibility requirements
- State and local building codes
- Occupancy and life safety requirements
▪ Compile, document, organize, and present code research findings to senior staff with
increasing accuracy and technical depth.
▪ Coordinate with project team members, consultants, and engineering disciplines regarding: - Drawing production
- BIM model coordination
- Design updates
- Technical issue resolution
- Project documentation consistency
▪ Participate in design meetings, project coordination sessions, and site visits while
contributing to technical discussions and project decision-making processes.
▪ Assist with specification sections, material selections, and product research under senior
staff guidance while developing familiarity with CSI specifications and documentation
standards.
▪ Support construction administration tasks including: - RFI draft preparation
- Submittal review coordination
- Punch list documentation
- Field observation support
- Construction issue tracking
▪ Provide support and guidance to Architect I team members regarding drafting standards,
production workflows, and project coordination tasks.
▪ Maintain project documentation accuracy while ensuring compliance with applicable codes,
project standards, and quality expectations.
QUALIFICATIONS
▪ Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited program
required.
▪ Licensed Architect preferred but not required.
▪ 5–7 years of professional architectural experience within an architectural or
multidisciplinary design firm.
▪ Experience contributing across multiple project phases including: - Schematic Design (SD)
- Design Development (DD)
- Construction Documents (CD)
- Construction Administration (CA)
▪ Proficiency in Revit required.
▪ Experience with AutoCAD and Bluebeam preferred.
▪ Strong working knowledge of: - Building codes
- Accessibility standards
- Construction materials
- Architectural detailing
- Project delivery methods
▪ Demonstrated ability to work with increasing independence on defined project scopes and
production responsibilities.
▪ Healthcare, institutional, or commercial project experience preferred.
▪ Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple
assignments and deadlines.
▪ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively
within multidisciplinary teams.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position operates within a collaborative architectural studio and project environment
requiring regular interaction with architects, consultants, engineers, contractors, and clients.
The role may include both office-based work and periodic project site visits depending on
project requirements.
The Architect II will work across multiple active projects simultaneously while supporting
design, technical production, and coordination efforts throughout all phases of project
delivery.
