POSITION OVERVIEW

The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC lathes to manufacture precision-machined components that meet required dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.

The successful candidate will interpret blueprints and work orders, select appropriate tooling, perform machine adjustments, inspect finished components, and maintain accurate production records. This position requires strong machining knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes to produce precision-machined components.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting tools for production jobs.
  • Perform machine setup, offsets, and basic adjustments to maintain product quality and efficiency.
  • Monitor machining operations to ensure dimensional accuracy and required tolerances are maintained.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Perform routine machine checks and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Document production data, inspections, and completed work accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to resolve machining issues and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and operational guidelines.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 1 year of CNC machine experience preferred.
  • Experience operating CNC lathes in a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical training or certification in CNC Machining, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC machine setup, operation, and basic troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with machining equipment and industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Experience with quality control and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to maintain accurate production and inspection records.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.
