POSITION OVERVIEW
The Quality Control (QC) Manager is responsible for leading and managing the quality assurance program , ensuring compliance with ASME, ASTM, and client specifications. This
role oversees welding procedures, quality inspections, NDE coordination, hydrostatic testing, material
traceability, coating quality, and documentation while partnering with Production, Engineering, and
Project Management to deliver high-quality fabricated pipe products.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, maintain quality standards, supervise QC
personnel, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable
industry codes and customer requirements.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage the facility’s quality control program
• Ensure compliance with ASME, ASTM, and customer specifications
• Maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), SDRs, hold/witness points, and quality documentation
• Manage welding procedures, qualifications, and welder continuity in accordance with ASME
  Section IX
• Supervise in-process and final inspections of fabricated pipe spools
• Coordinate and review NDE activities including RT, UT, PT, and MT
• Oversee hydrostatic testing, documentation, and acceptance criteria
• Ensure material receiving inspections, MTR reconciliation, and complete heat/lot traceability
• Manage coating inspections including surface preparation, DFT measurements, holiday testing,
  and cure verification
• Lead Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), root cause investigations, and corrective/preventive
  actions
• Supervise, mentor, and develop QC inspectors and maintain certification records
• Represent the company during customer audits and inspections
• Prepare and deliver complete turnover documentation packages
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Project Management to achieve project quality and
  delivery objectives
• Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives
  QUALIFICATIONS / IDEAL CANDIDATE ATTRIBUTES
• Minimum 5 years of QA/QC experience in welding and pipe fabrication
• Shop pipe fabrication experience strongly preferred
• Extensive knowledge of ASME Section I, V, VIII, B31.1, B31.3, B31.8, API 1104, and ASME
  Section IX
• Practical welding background with WPS, PQR, and WPQ experience
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required (expired certification acceptable if
  renewed upon employment)
• Ability to read isometric drawings and fabrication drawings
• Experience managing ITPs, SDRs, quality records, and customer documentation
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• NACE / AMPP Coating Inspector Certification
• Experience with industrial coating quality programs (SSPC/NACE/AMPP)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials
  Engineering, or related field
• Experience working in a union fabrication facility
• Experience supporting refining, chemical, power, or EPC projects
